Naugatuck Police detectives searched Maple Massage on New Haven Road on Wednesday, 23, following an investigation into reports that patrons were paying for more than massages at the business.
Police said that the investigation determined that employees would accept cash in exchange for sexual acts.
According to Connecticut Rep. Jillian Gilchrest, at any given moment, there are upwards of 250 illicit massage parlors statewide.
Kun Liu, 50, and Zuohua Wang, 44, both of Flushing; were arrested and charged with prostitution and conspiracy to commit prosecution. Lijie Zheng, 52, of Hartford, was charged with permitting prostitution and promoting prostitution. Each of the women is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court this week.
